you have to kill all of the white mantle at the first guard tower near saidra before she opens the gate and gives you the bonus.
that part about avoiding detection is a lie. kill everything you see in sight. |

The bonus in Riverside is fun! Well, I just recently did it with my E/Mo and boy was it funky.
As stated, to get it started you need to kill off the Mantle at the 1st watch tower and then go talk to Saidra. She will then open the gate behind her and give you the bonus quest. My advice to finish it - take it slowly, don't rush in. The Guard and Seeker ontop of the tower have huge bonuses to damage if they hit. Take it slowly and pull the Mantle that are at the base and then when you have cleared them out take out the 2 on the tower. Some towers are tricky in that you'll have to come at them from 2 different angles to successfully pull the mantle away from the tower 9and this involves going around aways to get to the 2nd approach vector). You can ignore the towers and complete the main objective without clearing any of the towers... alth the very last 2 towers and boss fight are a real pain to get past with henchies.. but it's doable. However that last section is easy if your doing the bonus... just take 1 tower at a time and pull them back up the hill from where you enter the region. |

Yea, I did it for the 2nd time (2nd char) last night. Very slow but exciting at times.
The worst was at one tower, I somehow pulled off all except for 2 of the justicars but left 3 abbots along with a monk boss there. The 2 final justicars also wouldn't pull, neither do lone abbots. So basically, run in firestorm, meteor, phoenix, really quickly, hope to take down one of them, and pull out. Had to do it a few times before 1 abbot finally fell, then the rest fell on successive battles. The final 2 towers are tricky. The 1 good thing is that each tower only has 1 abbot instead of the 3 or so you find at all the other towers. Imagine 6 abbots close to each other. That would not be fun. Abbots like to run to heal even if they're outside agro range which is why they're a problem if each tower has several. |
